Aftermarket warrantys??

Anybody have one and your opinion of them?

I just got my '05 G35 Coupe 6MT for what I thought was a great deal. $15,000! It has 71000 miles on it and within 2 weeks I've had to replace both compression rods, full tune up with all fluids. Now, yesterday I was going to dyno the car as I feel it's way down on power and as I was going there the power steering line burst on me. The plastic covering on the high line to protect it aparently held in some of our wonderfull salt (was told it wasnt driven in the winter,,, ya right!) and it rusted through!
$410 from Riverside Infiniti! Damn!!

I know some people have dealer warrantys but I guess I'm a little to late in mileage.

$15,000? Out the door or before taxes/tags etc? And also, was it private party or from a dealer? Nice deal nonethe less.

Private party. I thought I got a good deal also at the time.
Then everything started breaking!

Haha I understand how you feel. But even with the cost of fixing it, you still got a pretty good deal man, real congrats on getting a rev-up 6mt for $15k. I know it may feel like a hassle, but it's better than if you had got an average priced 05 6mt (I've seen them for around 17-18k with more miles than yours) and had absolutely no repairs with it (wouldn't even happen, every car will need some repairs).

try getting the elite warranty from infiniti or an extended warranty from your local credit union.

I would never buy an aftermarket warranty! Those company's from what I've experienced are totally dishonest. If you want a warranty go with Nissan's extended warranty, at least you'll know who you're dealing with. Customer had a 5 year old Ford 4X4 truck and because he added larger tires than OEM the aftermarket warranty denied his claim. This was over a blown engine due to funky rod bearings from Ford. They'll find any reason to deny your claim!

Infiniti has nothing for cars over 70000 miles. You have to of gotten it before 70k.
I purchased my car with 71k on it.
Warranty direct was the one I was looking at but they have a majior disclaimer about ANY aftermarket parts on a car.
