grinding from 1st to 2nd

hey guys. i bought a 6MT 2004 g35 about 4 or 5 months ago and i have had some problems when shifting from first to second. it dosent happen all the time, only when i redline first and slam it into second. just as the shifter falls in to the place for second i can hear a grinding sound like the clutch isnt in all the way or something, but the clutch is dffinatly pressed in all the way. it just feels like the gears are barely grinding for a second and it scares me. lol. i was wondering if somone could help me out in the diagnosis of this porblem.

When was the last time you changed your trans fluids? I've often felt it be very notchy and yeah like a mini grind I can't explain it. Helped when I flushed it and refilled.

I got a 2004 6MT and I have same problem with 4-5 gear. Only does it when I shift fast and at high rpms. I will be doing trans flush in a week hope it stops.

before changing fluids you should take it to the dealer if you are still under warranty...my 3rd gear was also grinding
The syncro were out of sync stealership replaced my tranny and clutch disc under warranty

our transmission is real picky when it comes to certain brand of fluids. Depending on if you get hot and cold climates, amsoil or OEM seems suitable for all-around climates.

I'm not sure what was in mine before, but I swapped to amsoil and the grinds practically dissappeared. It could be coincidental, but I was more than happy with it.

^ FYI, i heard some people get grinds from Redline and/or Royal Purple. And those that were perfectly fine with Redline were from Arizona or California....hence warm climates.
