Crawford install.....

Well the plenum and the cats are finally on. Had a little rough experience with a plenum bolt (the guide bolts, the ones that use a nut to hold the plenum down) decided that it didnt feel like staying in one piece during a test run. Fun drive home following that, had to hold that gas down slightly in neutral to keep from stalling. New bolts in (a real bolt, not the cheap POS guide bolts they use) and for all that care, it cracked doing 80 MPH so it almost could have been bad, thankfully, all the damage done was mental, hearing pa-PING! while flying down a road is not a pretty thing.

Results?

Well, the car feels much better down low. Big difference below 3.5K rpms. High end power is quite nice now, and 130MPH takes signifigantly less time to achieve. 5th runs through about as fast as 4th did before these two mods. 60 feels quite faster, I hit 60 off a launch and stopped and no one in the car believed I hit 60 that fast, so I had to do it again for proof. Sound wise, the car sounds great when your seriously driving it, but it has a drone now while winding down, or lightly cruising at 2K rpms. The increased air chamber in the plenum makes an echoing kind of noise as you decelerate, sounds almost metalic in nature. Quite a strange, but very nice sounding engine now. Sounds quite porsche-ish. Before these two mods, I would usually downshift to 5th, even at 70 mph to pass people on the highway. I've always felt 6th doesn't really have that get up and go feeling till post 3K rpms. Didn't downshift once on the way to work today, 6th pulls much, much better. Had to go to Infiniti to get that bolt...omfg what a nightmare. There are times I wish my car had a nissan logo on it, it's usually when I have to go in for service though. Oh well, Love the mods and would reccomend them to anyone looking for a lil more out of their G. Next up: Crawford programed TS ecu.

Is there anything else needed for putting on a Crawford Plenum and the High Flow Cats? I talked to Doug and he said that the G's (mine's an 05, haha) do not need the strut bar, maybe it's just for the headers but I haven't done too much research on it. I'm getting a ACT short shifter, GReddy blow off valve, DC Ceramic Headers (which I might seel for the Crawfords) and soon a TT. I already have the Injen CAI, GReddy SP2, and some Visual Effects that make it look cool. I'm excited for my new equipment but I need some reviews of them. This site is awesome for that. Should I get the headers switched over to Crawford? DC says their headers give the G an 11 RWHP gain. But who knows for sure? Any feedback would be great!

Sorry to hijack, but Crmd37 why do you need a GReddy blow of valve? Is your car turbo charged or something?
