Battery Drain
Battery Drain
Hey everyone, I have an AT 2006 G35 Coupe. Today when I tried starting it up, the engine wouldn't turn over and I had to get the car jumped for it to turn on. I just installed a PAC AAI-NIS2 into my BOSE headunit last night. I at first wire tapped my RCA to iPod dock cable to the cigarette lighter wire, but since the wire wasn't compatible with my iPhone, I removed the wiretap. Does anyone know what could have caused my battery to die? Is the PAC AAI-NIS2 to blame? Or is it the removed wire tap (since part of the wire is now exposed)? I did a couple searched and found that 2003 models had a problem with a battery drain with their head unit. I'm not sure if that applies to the 2006. If i were to bring my car to the dealership and it is still under warrenty, do I need to remove the PAC AAI-NIS2 unit? Thank you.
Yes, I would definitely say remove it. Just stay safe and take it off, so it seems like it's for sure the headunit's fault, not your aftermarket part. If they have any reason to believe it's due to the PAC, they won't cover it under warranty. Good luck!
