Motordyne coolant control valve - what's the point?

Trying to decide whether I want to install this. Does it really offer a benefit?

Maybe I just don't understand the purpose? Why would I want to change the flow of coolant to be anything other than stock?

Right now all I'm running is a jwt+ztube and soon a plenum spacer.

You'll have iso thermal gasket to help reduce 'heat soak' from block to plenum. That valve helps reduce 'heat soak' from the TB to plenum and stop heating air at TB as well. Heat soak = hot thin air = reduced power. Colder denser air = more power.

Just remember you do need to heat TB when it's cold outside or in cold climates (open that valve). Or get the copper ISO for TB = plug/play/forget. Copper ISO gives the same benefit as the manual valve set-up.

Did you read everything on the MotorDyne site. Explains everything there prolly better than I just did.

That hose is there to warm up the TB for the people who live in really cold climates. Which for us Cali folk, isn't necessary since it doesn't get that cold here (unless you live up in the mountains or something). Closing the valve will stop the hot coolant from reaching the TB, which will keep the TB cool, which in turn won't heat up the air passing through the TB.

If it ever does get cold enough for the TB to freeze, just open up the valve.

I feel like a thread stalker :/
