A laser jammer is a good idea if a lot of pigs in your area use laser. It's very difficult for radar detectors to detect laser because the beam is extremely narrow and the signal does not bounce off other objects to make it easier for the detector to "see".

Pigs can manipulate laser guns? Sounds like you need to stay in school longer.
And radar detectors don't pick up laser signals, they pick up radar emissions, laser detectors do though.

a radar jammer is illegal since it does not comply with FCC regulations.
A laser jammer is regulated by FDA (why, I dunno). It is allowed in most areas, but I *think* it is illegal in a very few areas in the country. I'm not sure about that last thing though.
