XLR, sounds awesome man. Like the others have asked, can you get a inside video. LongDuckDong (awesome name btw), that exhaust sounds good man, but I couldn't stand that drone, as I drive on the interstate daily. XLR, does yours drone like that at highway speeds?

more video

Here's a clip from behind w/car in neutral. It was running real rich when I first started it up, hence the nice pop at the end

Like I said, I hate the way it sticks out but it got me through the winter. There's realy no drone unless your putting it to the floor all the time, otherwise this engine has plenty of low end torque to shift before 2500 rpm and still sound tame and keep up with traffic. I thnk I'll stick with the race pipes over the high flow cats though, the hfc's just don't soud as nice at the top end and besides I haven't had a cel yet(knock on wood!). I'm gonna go with the motordyne 3" shockwave and some Stillen headers. One thing at a time though. I just got my Stillen under drive pulleys today and I'm already itching to hit the strip.

At idle it's almost silent, just a little rumble

This one is after I installed the race pipes and before I welded the muffler on. It sounds like a bike, way to rough. My neighbor said it was shooting out small flames before he asked me not to rev it up at 11:30.. oops!

The key is to use 304 stainless steel for durability , in 3" that might get pretty expensive. Also the mandrel bending gives you that super smooth inside wall for less restriction. I'm a pipefitter by trade, so my friends and I have looked into duplicating aftermarket exhaust out of various materials like titanium. The materials alone can add up quickly not to mention the labor involved. Your local muffler shop typicaly doesn't possess the skills for custom fabrication, if they did they most likely wouldn't be working there. I would try calling a performance shop or a tuner and ask who they use. Someday I'll install a lift in my garage and make my own full system, until then I'm at the mercy of aftermarket products
