bent wheels
my fellow G35 owners,
about 3000-4000 miles ago, i accidently ran over a median
(separating the left turning lane + lane going straight) with the front right wheel of my coupe while I was in northern VA. at the time, i thought i had cracked my front bumper... but luckily, i just needed to replace the tire. since then, my car has been vibrating if i exceed about 50 mph. The vibration comes from the front right side... same side the accident happened.
Today, I took my car to the dealer and they diagnosed that the wheels are bent. i couldve guessed this... my question is... will it be okay to just repair/straighten the wheel?? (recommendations please?) or do i need to buy new wheels for the car...which would be nice... but expensive...
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

I hit a pot hole a few years ago that bent my front passenger wheel. My tire went flat instantly and it was a pretty bad bend (two inches long and about a half inch deep). The wheel was toast. Depending on how bad the bend is, you may need a new rim. A quality tire shop should be able to give you an honest opinion on how much drive quality you would lose if you machine the wheel versus replacing it.
I hope that helps.

I did the same thing except on the passanger side. I wasnt as lucky as you though, popped both tires, right fender got pushed in and i have to change the hub bearing. cars been in the shop for over a week. Anyways i bent both wheels and i was thinking about going the repair route (infiniti wanted $600 for each new wheel) but i found a shop that gave me a good price on new tires and rims. I guess its just about shopping around seeing what deals you can get.
