The clearcoat is falling off my OEM 19" Rays wheels. Car is an '06, and I've owned it about 9 months now. The wheels were fine when I bought it except some very minor curb rash. I've only used regular car soap(Meguiar's Gold Class car wash) on them, never any wheel cleaner.
It really seems to be failing around the corners where the spokes meet the outer rim. You can pick off big chunks with your fingers like it has no adhesion to the metal wheels.
The clearcoat is also developing some darker spots in it, not sure what is causing that(maybe it losing adhesion with the metal).
Anybody heard of this happening? Is there a TSB out for this maybe? Any luck with getting something like this covered by the dealership?
Can't say I've ever had the clearcoat or paint just start falling off a wheel, even wheels that were tracked and got very hot.

I had the same problem especially with black spots, one of my wheels always looked filthy. I recently had mine powdercoated black....solved the problem nicely

I almost feel like that would be covered under the rust/corrosion and I think that's to 100k miles?
