$8 bottle of rubbing compound might work. $15-$20 kit DOES WORK. it also takes out a lot of the pitting. I thought I had stuff inside the lens too until I did this. Do this first. What you see may just be oxidation paying tricks on you. Don't waste your time with polishes and what not, got straight for the throat. Face it, your confidence is shot and your planning on replacing your headlights anyways. You really can't screw this up. It is simple and the results are awesome. How do you post pics on here if you don't have your pics posted on another website?

I think i have some stuff that's actually inside...
well, i used the 3m kit to clean my headlights only to find that the clearance light had some yellowing inside. don't know what that could be caused from but it's definitely there. don't really feel like opening it up though.

Cleaning out the clearance strip is a biotch.... If you open it up ever you'll know why. The yellowing part of the clearance strip is actually a thick plastic, long serrated wedge that fits in there. I'm very tempted to even put it in the dish washer or something... I don't even know where to start with that piece.

I got goof off on the leadlights on the outside thinking it would take my tint glue off. CLEARLY that was a stupid idea. It's ate through the housing a bit and its cracked. Do you think this 3M Kit would work?

Absolutely. With the kit you completely sand the outside of your headlights and buff them. Works like a charm

If you're 100% sure that the problem is inside the lights then no. But I would try the kit anyway...it really makes the lights look better. I was convinced that I had condensation when I really didn't.

I wonder if this will work for me. My headlights have like this white stuff around looks like there use to be overlays on them. Also got some small scuffs that you can see when your right next to it. I tried sanding but no hope. Should I try this?

Yes. You sand it with three different grits before you buff it out.

Btw, to all that are going to use the kit...make sure your drill is fully charged and don't be stupid like me. You'll be using the drill for a while.

No, it's a very small package it just comes with a drill adapter, sandpaper and a buffer. And the wax stuff you put on the lights to buff them.
