No...the only way to do that is by breaking the seal and opening up the headlight. There's a DIY somewhere on it I'm sure of that.

But like I said, I would do the headlight kit either way. When I get my next car I'm going to use it (unless it's new) cause the lights really look that much better.

I used the 3M kit and it definitely removed some SERIOUS defects in the headlight. My only issue now is the glass isn't as clear as a new headlight, and there are fine swirl scratches all over the entire light. Maybe I didn't keep it wet enough while I was wet sanding, but if anyone knows how to clear it up more let me know. I tried Meguiars PlastX but that junk didn't work at all.

I just went to autozone to buy the 3m restoration kit but they didnt have it. Instead, I purchased the Meguiars Plastx. $9.99. My headlights were not terrible but showed some signs of cloudiness. I would recommend it to someone whos headlights are not HORRIBLE but need work. Heres a before and after pic. Sorry for the quality, it was taken with my cell phone. Also there are different background reflections so its kind of hard to compare perfectly.

to get rid of the swirl marks just spend more time with the gray foam rubber sanding disc (II forget the name) and use a lot of polish. Now on another note...i decided to get a bit stupid/ambitious. I know this worked on headlights but how about surface scratches on paint...GUESS WHAT?!?!?! It works there too. But only use the gray foam rubber disk and and the foam polishing disk. And do go at for too long or you will go thru the clearcoat. But if you are careful....it takes scratches out you can't normally get out with regular compound.

Sound like I can just use my random orbital buffer w/ headlight polish and all the haze should come out....

Gonna have to try this when I get a chance. I use PlastX, but I think the imperfections are deeper than that. A wet sanding kit would do the trick.

I've been keeping an eye on mine for the last 6 years and I live in the hot temperatures of Florida. I have kept a coat of polish on them whenever I see even the slightlest bit of fogging. They look as new as the day I picked the car up. I guess the secret is to get to the discoloration asap or the PlastX also does a good job.
