Usually my car stays warming up while I'm getting ready so its good to go by the time i step out.

I live right off the highway so the oil has to be up to temp as soon as i step out of my driveway

Lol @ worming your car.

I start my car and just let it run for about 10 seconds and then i go. Get the fluids flowing...

Nothing like watching people jump in their cars after hours on end in the cold, then just slamming the damn thing into drive after turning the key. Makes me feel sorry for the car.

Do I warm up my car, always. Generally 2 to 3 minutes in the summer and 4 to 5 minutes between Nov. and March even though my G is garage kept. And....I never "get on" my coupe until it has reached normal operating temp.
Our G35s are a mechanical expression of humanity and deserve respect....Gary

I give it less than 30 secs. But then again I have only lived in FL and Socal so it never really gets that cold.

Try driving ur car hard (revings over 4k RPM) before the coolant temp is in the middle engine makes different sound

so I wait for mine to warm up, I dust my car meanwhile

my car in always in the garage

Letting the car idle until the water temps is up to normal is probably hurting the engine more than helping it. Delaying the warm up process only make the engine run the cold start program longer and the longer you run the a/f rich, the worse it is for your engine/oil.

I know, I was kidding lol. Wanted to see what others would say.. I have done that about once or twice though.

My G is pretty much ALWAYS warmed up when I want to drive.. Only time is when I wake up in the morning to go to work that its a "cold" start when its still 100+ outside..

In the summer here, even on a "cold" start the car warms up and is at normal temps within 30 seconds. No BS.

dealer doing it (for which I really doubt they can do that much around the parking lot) and you doing all day, everyday is quite different.

Lol, RX-7 an RX-8 drivers would be shocked at some of the responses to this thread.

I always wait till the RPM's settle at 1000. I took it from my buddy's M3 which has a variable redline light that moves higher on the tach as the car gets warmer.
