Hi All,

I seem to have broken (jammed?) the auto-return function on my power seats (G35 Coupe). The seat power functions still work, but the seat does not automatically return to position when tilted back (after having been tilted forward). Come to think of it, it no longer moves forward automatically when tilted forward either. This happened yesterday, and I assume it's something minor to fix (broken/jammed sensor?). Anybody have an idea before I head down to the dealership to have them fix it?

Must be a sensor in the seat back that is faulty. If the seat still functions OK , and nothing has jammed in the rail mechanism. THat's my guess. Good luck...[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

This might sound obvious, but did you push the seatback front some after you lifted the handle and the seatback folded forward? I noticed on mine if I just lift the handle, the seatback folds front, but the seat doesn't motor front. Just a slight push on the seatback seems to trigger the sensor. I'm guessing it will loosen up a little once the seats break in a little...

Also make sure the door is open. If you don't open the door the seat will not move.

 

Well, I don't know what happened, but this morning, the auto return function started working again... I didn't do anything different, so I guess I'll just chalk it up to a jammed sensor or something which worked it's way loose again... <shrug>...
