Help me decide what to Buy!

Hi,

I`m torn between these 2 deals (I`m in Canada so G35 are harder to find).

Number 1)
Blue 2006 G35 Coupe 5AT with premium package for $26K Canadian. It`s an import from Long Island area. It has only 21k miles and has a clean Autocheck history (Also verified service history by phone at Dealer). Almost 1 year left on the B2B warranty.

What I don`t like about it is the 17" wheels and the lack of spoiler. (Used 19" OEM wheels are pretty much impossible to find around here). It`s not as sexy for sure.

Number 2)
Grey 2006 Coupe 6MT with 41k miles for $23K also with premium package. Also with clean service history and Autocheck. I test drove both and the 6MT is much more fun to drive. However, this one needs new tires. 6 months left on the B2B warranty.

I enjoy the looks and drive of Number 2 but I feel that Number 1 is probably a better buy over the longer term.

I test drove both on the same day. I was really surprised at the difference!

I am a little worried about the Oil consumption issue of the 6MT. Not sure if is overblown or a significant problem.

What`s the difference between the 2 key systems? The 5AT had a key less start while the 6MT had a standard key to start the car. Why the difference?

If you had more fun in #2, then go with #2! 6 months difference on a warranty isn't that big of a deal. If the warranty means that much to you, you can always pick up an extended warranty through Infiniti or an outside company...

Well the mileage also carries some weight. The 5AT was still fun but the 6MT was better.

NUMBER 2. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. And number 2 might actually be the better buy for the future because quite a few people (such as myself) look for 6mt's and won't settle for the 5at.

So far - none of you considers the 20k miles difference a factor?

Not at all. I would rather have a 6mt w/ 20k more miles AND save myself $3k. Even though it needs new tires (We will just say another $1k need to spend), you're still saving $2k and you get a manual.

Well Number 1 has about 1.5 summer seasons left. Regardless, I have to buy winter tires for either since winter tires is the law where I live.

Should I be worried about the potential oil consumption issue?

Although there are oil consumption issues in the rev-ups, not ALL of them will have that problem. To stay safe, either make sure you get one with the powertrain warranty still current, or take a bit of a chance (or just deal with it and keep filling it with oil whenever it needs it, and take the hit there).
