buffering my G?

Ok so I bought a pc7424 buffer. It came with 1 soft foam pad. 1 cutting pad, 1 polishing pad, 1 finishing pad and backing plate. This is going to be my first time doing this. I have a laser red G35 it's got some swirls on it and few scratches. What products should I get? What pads should I start out with and what products? Can someone point me in the right direction. Don't tell me to go get it done by professional. I wanted to buy some products locally in stores like autozone or something not to wait for shipping and stuff.

You can get Swirl X and Ultimate compound at your local auto store and they are great products. As well as NXT 2.0 Tech Wax.

You can search for the "ask a detailer" thread on here and there should be plenty of info for you there. He should be able to help you if you have any more questions you don't see.

It's called "buffing". Buffering is what your computer does, not your automotive detailing tools.

Spend some time reading through the detailing section, great information there. Why don't you want to wait a couple days for better products than OTC stuff? Detailedimage.com has some very good products and prices, that's where I ordered my pc7424 kit and all my detailing products. Plus they're a sponser here and we get a 10% discount.

After going over my OB coupe with a clay bar, I use Menzerna intensive polish II with an orange pad, then Menzerna final polish with a white pad, followed by Poorboys ex-p sealant with a blue pad, ending with Nattys blue paste wax applied by hand. Don't forget to only use microfiber towels, or you'll just scratch it up again.
