It slightly bogs and shudders at the same time. But it happens so quick that I'm the only one who notices ( my wife sitting in the passers seat is oblivious ).

 

That sounds very similar to my problem. I wouldn't jump to conclusion, but have these items checked over for your own piece of mind.

 

Well it hasn't done it ever since I started this thread..lol.. the grounding wire I added made my tranny act so much better I'm thinking that maybe it is a tranny problem that came from not having enough voltage to operate perfectly. I'm gonna add another one to the tranny it's self to make sure.

 

I've had this same problem, but it's been while cruising and simply adding a tiny bit more throttle. I'm more inclined to believe it to be transmission related. (I have AT). I've noted that after the "stumble", the rpms are slightly higher, as if the lockup torque converter "unlocked" then it will settle back down again. This may happen three times a week and then not again for a month.

 

did it again today....hmmm...maybe it is tranny related. I'm gonna do a tranny oil change soon so we'll see.

Go into Manumatic mode and see if the problem happens in there.

 

Usually it will do that cruising at 45 mph, the auto tranny is actually going into to "economy" mode which causes that slip.

 

I would have to drive in manumatic for extended periods of time ( maybe weeks ) before it happens.

Can you explain what this "economy" mode is? It COULD be the torque converter lockup doing a hiccup...that would make sense to me.

 

I read somewhere on here that economy mode is when your car is crusing steady it will switch over to save gas. Search transmission slip it should come out.

 

Mine kinda stumbles on idle every so often. You can feel it in the engine

 

It's normal. It's called Drive by Wire Lag.

I have a 6mt and I notice how it lags also between shifts.

Not was responsive as a cable driven system. (older cars).

 

Just wanted to share my experience. My '04 G started having a hard time starting at warm temperature. It would start, but die immediately because it wouldn't hold Idle. Funny thing is that it would start fine on Cold every time.

This started happening after my battery died so I suspected ECU programming and did the Idle Learning etc procedures (available online if you google it). Did not help.

Finally had to take it in and it turned out my Throttle Body was dirty. At just 58K miles!? So weird, in the past on my old car I suspected my TB was dirty so I wanted to clean it and it was spotless on a car that had 130K+ miles on it. What's the deal with the G35? TB cleaning should really only be done on very old cars. Is it something about the location/design of the TB?

Also, Mission Viejo dealership charged $145 to clean out the TB. Arm and a leg? I'm sure I could do it myself (if I knew what the issue was) with a can of TB cleaner, but not sure how long it would take to get to the TB.

 

It can't be throttle related because I'm at a steady rate...the car is not accelerating and the throttle should be steady. It just has a random stumble/hesitation and then continues normally.

 

I have an 04 6MT and noticed this started happening on mine. It happened about 3 times in the past 2 months. The last one (lastnight) was more noticeable. I'm just cruising at about 35MPH in 4th gear, no change in throttle input, and there's a sudden, split-second power loss (I liken it to being WOT in 1st gear and suddenly lifting off the accelerator), before it starts cruising normal again. Weird....
