SHIFTER VIBRATION

On my way home from work yesterday I was in fourth doing about 60/65 and I notice the shifter vibrating violently (a lot more then what im used to) I then went up to fifth and then sixth, and the shaking toned down to (respectable level) what im used to. At the same time I felt that my front wheels were also vibrating/shaking. I pulled over and didnt notice anything unusual. On my way to work this morning I tried to duplicate the problem.......and nothing at all. Could one of my rims be off balance/bent or is this a tranny issue? Either way I have a service appt. for tomorrow...I need new pads at 11K??...and ill see if they can come up with something. Thanks PJ

Re: SHIFTER VIBRATION

Did you take the same route (same direction on the road)today as when you had the severe vibration? Also, did you go the same speed. A bent wheel or a lost wheel weight will be a balance issue and it can be speed specific.

It doesn't sound like a transmission issue. To me, it sounds like it was a road surface issue because if you went through the gears and thus went the same speeds today, a wheel balance issue would have occurred again.
