I've posted this a number of times, but yes powder coating non forged rims CAN make them prone to cracks around the lug holes. There was a guy on My350z that had his crack and break all 5 lug holes.

Aw crap, i just powder coated my stock 18's. i recently changed the lugs on them from the stock to black one's i bought off of ebay. i noticed that when i was tightening the lugs (at 80 ft/lbs) i heard some weird sound... like sand grinding on each other. please tell me that that noise is something else.

Man I really hope it's nothing, the thing is PC ovens are at like 425 degrees it makes metal/aluminum brittle.

i just found out my wheels were pc'd at 375. i hope that's low enough to not affect it.

Hey I wish you the best, I really do.

I'm on the process of uploading some new pics of mine to photobucket.

I'll post a couple when they upload.

Its paint, I took it to a shop told them I wanted my tails black, but still able to see the lights.

They said ok, pick'em up tomorrow.

Thats how they turned out and I love them.

i painted my tail lights, its a translucent paint called VHT nightshade, you have to to light coats and it comes out nice. and if i were you i would get ur stock 18s painted im doing mine now. powdercoating is thick and when u put ur tires back on ive heard cases that its hard to get the tire to bead or the tires dont fit. paiting chips and powdercoating peels.
