clicking, ticking noise...

i have a 5AT, today i noticed clicking and ticking noise coming from the outside of the car (near the rear suspension and the trans. area) it happens when i gas (1st gear in M mode) and downsifting in M mode. has any of you guys have this problem? is my trans. going? (no its not gear grinding noise)

the tech guy at my dealer said that that was dude to a dried out something and its very easy to fix...they just have to lube something up on the axles or suspension or something of that sort.

Take it in...I guess its common on coupes. They should know what you're talking about

Funny you should bring this up. My G35 coupe is at the infiniti dealer today for this very same issue. Previous threads have described the solution as retorquing of axles or differential bolts. I will report back what my dealership tells me when I get my car back later today I hope.

I had the same prob with my Z - clicking when accel or drop throttle at low speeds. Thats exatly what it was - axle bolts needing retorquing. the 1st time it took those guys 3 trips to figure it out.

Its actually back - 8000miles later. except now i dont care.

thanks for the response you guys. i just called the dealer and made a appointment. earliest they got is next monday (wtf) i told them to fix every problem w/ my car while they are at it (noise from the moon roof when closed, gas gauge/senser off, and this ticking noise)
