how expensive was your 15000 mile service?

the service manager just called me up today saying my car is ready and that the total comes to around $350.
Is it supposed to be that expensive?

You didnt agree on a price before they worked it? All you need is an oil change.

Mine was around $300. I think it was pretty much useless cept for the oil change.

My dealership charges around $210 for the 15,000 mile service. I broke it down to a few things I think I needed and it was around $175. However that didn't include the in-cabin air filter change. That added around $75. I'm guessing a lot of it probably wasn't all that necessary, but I thought it wasn't an outrageous amount and it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to car maintenance.

Re: how expensive was your 15000 mile service?

Had mine in for the 15,000 mile service two weeks past.......

I already replaced the air filter and wiper blades at 12,000 miles....
I told them it wasn't necessary to rebalance the wheels and tires since my car was operating perfectly fine, with no vibration or pulling....the tires are not covered by Infiniti anyway, so whats the point....if they are out of round or vibrating due to a suspension part they aren't covered so I just let it be.....

They told me they would replace the incabin filter at 30,000
so basically they changed my oil/filter, inspected the normal stuff they do each service, and inspected the brakes......at least they said they did, however, I doubt it since my wheels did not look like they were removed.....

Anyway, total charges for the so-called 15,000 mile service.....$33.44 total........Oh, and uh....no wash thank you!

Re: how expensive was your 15000 mile service?

Depends on what you had done, but dealers usually overcharge for service. Im suspecting all they do is change your oil top of fluids and just check other things on your car. So basically you are paying them 350 for an oil change and fluid top off. If they do other working like rotating your tires and replacing brake pads for example, then 350 is about right. If not then you can usually have this service done cheaper elsewhere, but you don't get a loaner. Even still I would still go to the dealer during the warranty period, because eventhough the law says manufacturers can't void their warranty because consumers decide to have their car serviced elsewhere, you will have a hell of a time getting them to do a warranty repair if they see that you haven't had your car serviced with them the whole time.
