Hey guys,
Just looking to get a question answered. A buddy of mine has a Seibon Carbon Fiber hood TS style and it has a red weave into the carbon fiber. I am currently driving an Athen's Blue G and was wondering if anyone has seen any carbon fiber with a blue paint in the weave. Just curious if anyone has seen it before.
I guess I am counting on PPGFreak (i think thats your name)

Is that color change to CF a skill that most reputable paint shops should be able to do?

 

No, that is some serious paint. I don't think I would trust just any ordinary shop with it, it's also rather expensive if I remember PPGfreak saying.

As far as blue tinted CF goes I have seen it on the trunk of a Cobalt SS, it's a tint that is mixed in with the epoxy when the CF is coated. Looks good when done right, I don't know if you'll be lucky enough to have someone as skilled as PPGfreak to do the work.

I've been wanting to get a 350Z engine cover done in green carbon but haven't found anyone to do the custom tint... Hopefully you live somewhere like California where custom shops are plentiful!

 

If Im not mistaken carbon fiber is only black. Kevlar comes in colors.

There are hybrid fabrics available that are carbon and kevlar wooven together. There many colors available. The red is not very vibrant once wet out with resin. it turns to a dark blood red. I am considering building some hood molds to make my own Light weight hood replacement. Just not too sure if I want to deal with it since selling them is not very profitable(that is making them correctly)

 

Hey hojo, you said there are many colors available. I realize it comes out darker due to the process but I still like the entire setup. You know of a link to anywhere selling the products in the different colors you mentioned?
