I noticed tonight my g was running a smooth idle at 450....I have never had a car that idled this low and I new to the g. Is this normal?

Smooth idle at 450? Are you sure? At 450, doesn't it feel like it wants to turn off? My idle is at 800. I think that's where it should be at.

On a cold start since it's parked outside, it at first idles at about 1200 rpm, then after about 5 minutes, reaches 1000 rpm, then once the car warms up it stays at around 800-900 rpm idle

450 seems awfully low, I'm surprised if your car (hasn't already) shut off from that.

Yes, 650 is a lot better. In a perfect situation, the car should idle at 750 rpm (I believe). Can anyone verify this?

with stock plenum I was idling at somewhere around 700. I replaced stock plenum with a kinetis ssv and re-used what turned out to be a bad gasket. It leaked and I was all over the place on idle and finally started throwing a vacuum leak code. It would idle from 250 and shudder back up to near 1k.

I replaced the bad gasket with an aramid gasket from motordyne and it idles rock solid at 450 always. no shuddering, no variance. I normally would think this is too low but honestly the car has never run better than it does now.

Im idling at the 3rd bar so i believe 600? Idle's smooth though no problems whatsoever.. But yea seems kinda low.. I drive car on weekends mostly so it'll sit in my driveway for like 3-4 days without bein turned on and when i start it idles kinda high almost 2k then drop to 1k and once warmed up to 600.

Normal idle after your G is warmed up should be close to 750 RPMs, cold idle is +200 RPMs for a few minutes.

Around 700 is right... every so often the engine will shutter and youll see the tach move up to 800 and then drop back down. Most noticable when sitting at a light.

350s run the same.

According to the FSM, your car is supposed to idle at 650 RPM +/- 50 when fully warmed up.

AC adds about 200 RPM. I don't know my actual idle (need more accurate instrument), but it looks like ~600 W/O AC and ~80 W AC on the dash tach. Oh this is on a 6MT, because auto often idles a bit higher as well.
