heavy steering wheel

Hey guys, I was wondering if your g35 coupe's steering wheel is pretty heavy. By heavy I mean heavier than some SUV's. Or am I not making sense?

I get what you're saying. Yes mine is much heavier than my friend's IS300 or my previous solara..

I don't know why it is but there is many different types of "feels" with these things..

its the power steering, most luxury cars, trucks, suvs will have a very "light" steering. And most high performance vehicles will have a "heavy" feel its just how they do it, for an example the E46 330 has a somewhat light steering compared to the M3 everything is the same except for the PS pump and steering rack. I like the heavy feel and the heavy steering also get less feedback from the road.

I know what you guys are saying here. My steering wheels is a lot heavier than my brother's 09 corolla. I guess that's just how our cars are made. No worries here.

Steering assist is one thing, but real sports cars/drivers do not need power steering... it just takes away from the feel of the road you're driving on.

Parallel parking sucks without power steering though, but it seems most people on the road don't know how to do that with power steering anyways.

+1

to add- I'd rather have my steering wheel stiffer to turn when traveling at high speeds. You feel more secure.

And ever since i put on my wheels-i dont care if im 2 ft fromo the curb.

when u have to do a litle bit of agressive driving like passing left-right left quickly couple of cars in traffic, this steering wheel really helps.i was also surprised with the heaviness but got used to it really quickly.

+1 if anything i would make my steering wheel a little heavier just for better feel. I hate driving my dads CLK550 you have to exagerate how much you turn the wheel which is uncomfortable
His car is quick though

Are you sure your power steering belt didn't snap or isn't slipping, and that your PS fluid reservoir is full?

The heaviness is alrite its the no return that gets me. making a quik right into traffic, then the steering wheel not correcting itself fast enough is annoying as hell!
