I only drive my car in the warm weather from April until November here in Mass... so it only sees warm weather, and my stock tires lasted me 28K, at which point they had 3/32" left on them in the rear and when I replaced them. At that same point, my fronts were worn unevenly across the tire, and the inner edge was relatively worn but not completely bald, and the outer edge had a good 5/32" left on them at the time. If I really wanted to push it and drive the stock tires until they were dangerously bald with the threads showing, I'm guessing those stock tires could have lasted until about 34 or 35K.
Actually, I'm a very conservative driver and drive aproximately 90% city. The fronts which now have 16,000 miles have 5/32nds left. I assume I could get somewhat over 20K. They are assymetrical (RSAs) and the insides are not feathered as I rotate them from side to side every 5-7,000 miles. Yes, the insides will of course be wearing sooner. I have had 2 sets of RSAS on the rears that were compt by the dealer and were nearing 2/32nds on the middle treads before 10,000 miles. The Avon 550 A/S gave me almost 14,000 from the rears, but the middles treads also wore prematurely. I now have Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105s on the rears and for the first time are wearing evenly accross the tires. Incidently, my alignment is within spec and the front tires are adjusted for the max allowable positive toe (.08)to offset the negative camber effects. I guess, some of us are luckier than others. My friend has a 06 Coupe with Pilots that roar like hell after 12-14K, but he suffers through the noise and gets a little over 20K out of them before he shells out $1200 for another set from Costco. I go for the cheapest tires with the Z rating that stick well on dry and wet pavement. I'm unconcerned about handling as I drive like a typical old timer. PS........ I always keep my tires at the specified 30Lbs of air. The sedans and G37s do not have the issues with front inside feathering since Infiniti finally listened to the numerous complaints and rectified the issues with the Coupe. In addition, they allowed the G37 Coupe owners to rotate their tires by offering a non staggered setup for the first time. One thing I am absolutely sure of. My next car (which most likely will be the M37) will never again have a staggered tire setup.

For some reason, this just reminded me that I should probably check the tire pressure in my spare tire. I've never done it since I bought the car, despite the fact that I check the pressure in the other 4 tires about once every 2 weeks.

Man this really turns me off to G35's. I think it would be stupid to get one certified now considering I would be modding the car with the cambering kit. Not sure if I want to buy one and put the work in on it or just abandon the whole idea. I guess I'll have to research different kits now lol. Anyone know a thing or two about my options there?
