I had a vague knowledge of the "Oil Consumption" problem before I bought my '03 G35c, but didn't realize it was so widespread. Since I have only put on <500 miles, I haven't even checked the oil (had it changed the first day anyhow).

Is there a FAQ on here, describing the problem?

If not, can someone post the key points?

From what i understand, the oil consumption problem is only prevalent on manual models which have a higher rpm line which does something to the seals.

Apparently, automatics are in the clear. You should be fine. Just check oil regularly.

 

From what I understand, The oil consumption problem is a bug in a few 05-06 G35 sedans and 05-07 G35 coupes. The problem is more common manual transmissions, but has been found in a small amount of cars with automatic transmissions.
