Well I pulled up the manual and the left sensor is for the auto-lights - the right one I don`t know. The manual says to make sure not to cover it with something you put on the dash.

those are technically not DRLs. in canada, our G35s have the foglight/high beam on at a low power, meaning not at its maximum wattage as DRLs. what you are talking about is simply the city lights that are present in 03, and 04 (as far as i know) and are not present in the 05-06 sedans. im not sure about coupes.

if you are planning to cover the auto light sensor, so it thinks its nighttime all the time, you will have a chance of not passing inspection cuz isnt it kinda fishy that all your lights are on all the time (side markers, taillights, license plate)?

The car has been in Canada for 2 years like that. It has already passed the crappy tire CT RIV Federal inspection 2 years ago. I have to pass the Quebec inspection. I'm not sure if they check that or not. Anyways, I've decided to get it done professionally at an Infiniti dealer.

Previous owner (another dealership) is paying the bill.

Worse thing is this car was imported by a Canadian Infiniti dealer and he didn`t even bother to do the job right.

I'm using the tape trick until it gets done so I don`t forget to drive without the lights on until it gets done.

Got the DRL from Infiniti dealer. Works like a charm. No more Xenons during the day.
