should i do this to my roof?

have you guys seen this done to a G before? it's an overlay/wrap that's put onto the car. what i really like about it is that it has texture to it. there's no clear coat over this. i found some nice pics on a lexus and was tempted to do this to my car. what do you guys think?

That looks like woven CF.

I would get it cleared to avoid something hitting it and messing up the weave, then you have the get it relaid.

You could look for someone locally that does satin clear coats.

But I'm with Beebo, get the cap if you want that look.

It's a vinyl pattered like real carbon fiber with texture and everything. Local IS-F owner has it...i think those are pics of his car. Still cost him a couple hundred bucks if I'm not mistaken.

i have some rolls of that stuff i was going to do my rear diffuser and roof with it, the rolls are like $80 but the problem is they only come in 34X48" size and i thought i would butt two peices up together in the middle of the roof but its quite visible so i passed on doing it lol its a nice material but very hard to work with as you have to constantly have heat on it, its not like the stretchy vinyl where you can heat it and have time to play with it.

My tint shop does those overlays but it's just vinyl "Want to be C/F." I watched him do a '10 Mustang for the local stealership, looks alright just not my thing....

the company 3m make a good version. it is an architectural product for both inside and outside use. It is a 3d product that has a great texture. you can put a thin clear coat over it but more than that and you loose the textured effect. going to have mine done in the new year, to go with carbon rear diffuser and front splitter.

it might be just me, but i like the textured wrap more than the one that looks like it has a clear coat over it. just something different. apparently, i'm the only one who likes having my ride being different.
