Re: Maturity in this forum.

Why do you have to look down on ppl that have parents that have the money to help them through school?Tell me what is wrong with that? There must be a reason why your parents chose not to support you, maybe you had some family issues and they disowned you. I dont know and I don't care, because thats your life. There are very few ppl that can actually say that they supported themselves through college and paid for everything by themselves. You guys act like you are better than the rest of us because you did do that.

Its the internet, I can say i supported myself also and no one would know.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Its always you, "I've worked since I was 9 years old" crap. baby sitting your little brother for 20 bucks a day is what I would call work.

I could care less what you have done. This is not what this thread is even about. We are talking about the maturity of the ppl on this board and how ppl like you hate or dispise the kids that receive support for college or car from their parents. If you're done it on your own, thats great. There is no need to be hating on others taht received help....

Seriously, tell me what is wrong with parents loving and wanting the best for their child.

The way you guys think is like, parents might as well kick their kids to the curb at the age of 12, so they can learn how to support themselves.

Do any of you guys even have kids or even plan to have any?

Now please shut up with the, "I did everything on my own, so i'm a badass and better than you" [censored].

Care-o-meter HAHAH!!!! Also to this statement "But having a 35-40K car at 16-19 makes it pretty tough. Hopefully you won't be disappointed later on in life. "
If what u meant is paying it off and everything, you also have to realize that at that age you are prob. living at home, like i am for my first 2 years of college, and another thing is what to college or school kids basically do? Go to school and work, then have fun, they dont have bills for a house, and other things people have to pay off so that saves ALOT of money to enable them to be able to pay off a lease payment monthly lets say. Anyway i agreed with what u said, just making you realize it actually isnt that hard but also some kids dont have it like that. Martin

Re: Maturity in this forum.

ya...but i don't think the arguement of this topic is who is "better" than others....we are talking about maturity....a person who buys his own car is probably more financially stable than the person who is given one.....but i am not sure how maturity comes into play.....

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Speaking of 280 Hp not being a lot....

In the early '80's the HOT car was a Citation X-11 or a Pontiac 6000STE. They had about 100 Hp. The national speed limit was 55mph.

A new Accord had 90Hp.

My first car was a '72 Dodge Dart slant six.

If I had my G when I was 17, I doubt that I would be here. Or, I would just now be getting my license back....

The past 5 years have seen an extreme rise in car capabilities.

5 years ago, a 16 year old was 11.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

People like you makes me sick. You walk around with your head all high thinking you are better than everyone else. There are very few people out there that works as hard as asian ppl do, so don't try to tell me ppl who receive support from their parents don't deserve anything.

You don't even put any thought into what you write. Seriously, tell me what makes those type of people better as a person? Is it their fault, their parents chose to support them? How many kids would turn down their parents help. Life isn't easy out there working full time trying to pay for living expenses and tuition.

That's about as good a "firm grasp of the obvious" statement as I think I've ever read...

Re: Maturity in this forum.

u must have a sorry *** childhood. It's not the child's fault for having a loving family who gives the best they can for the child. What makes u better? tell me. You pay for ur stuff, that's great, and you no wut? U dunno the ppl in the forum, so why don't u stfu?? You cant judge others cus u've never been in their shoes. There are alot of 19 yr olds driving Porsches given by their parents. M/b some act like *******s, but not all are like that.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

lol YOU ARE PLAIN DUMB.
if u give an irresponsible 16 yr old with a 50 hp car, hes gonna crash it. It's not like HP matters. You are hilarious lol. There are tons of ricers out there with their civics driving insanely fast. Do they have 280hp??? I see stock civics drivers driving really fast. So buying an Echo will gurantee a kid from crashing his car? is that wut ur saying?

why are u making the assumption that a G35 is a "race" car??? lol

then I guess 10/10 kids who drive M3 die

Re: Maturity in this forum.

i totally agree with you...i am 20...i have a 280hp g35coupe..so guess what? i am still alive...and i have been driving the 260hp TL-S for the 2 years b4 this...i am still alive...my friends drive S4's M3's....they are all still alive...what does that say? it doesn't matter what car you put in the hands of your kids...as long as you know they r responsible....

i really think we should stick with the topic of "maturity in this forum" than.. "parents shouldn't buy their kids g35 because i worked for my whole life for this and they r making me look bad"

Re: Maturity in this forum.

As much as I agree that its ok for a kid to be driving an expensive car in general, i think you and brownie cross the line. Having more horsepower can make a responsible kid turn into an idiot. HP does matter contrary to what you think. I'll give you a good example, me...
I was happily driving my G35 tha tmy parents so graciously got for me, and the new STi's came out and I just wanted all that power. I have never had an accident before the STi.
Not even 2 weeks of owning the car I hospitalized myself when I lost control of the car and crashed into the barrier on Sunset by UCLA.

I was and still am a responsible kid, i just let the power get to me. Just like most people will do once in awhile. I was jsut really unfortunate.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

ok heres what i think. first off, parents should never buy their kids a new car for their first car. yes im a 18 and this will be my second car. im getting an 05 G35 coupe and yes my parents are paying for it. call me spoiled if u want cause my friends already do, but my parents have always bought things for me and i never had job because they encouraged me not to, they said it would affect my school work too much. in a way i do deserve a new car because of all the crap i've had to deal with in my short life (o and i could die next week, seriously ). in my opinion, i do not think its right for your parents to have to make you buy everything you want and a lot of my friends go through this and i feel sorry for them. i mean, we're kids, we're suppose to have fun and just go to school. we shouldn't have to worry about going to work and making a living when we're still in high school or college.
have you guys ever heard of a doctor?? because it takes about 8 years of schooling plus at least 3 years of residency to be able to start practicing. and yes residency pays about 40k but that cant buy you much if you get married and have kids. my brother is now going through this process. he studies a lot and rarely has time to play let alone work in a job that will probably pay minimum wage. take into account that med school is expensive.
maybe its a culture thing, maybe not, but in my book parents should learn to take care of their kids and not throw them on the street with just a bag of clothes and 50 bucks. o and i do have another friend in this situation.
