Re: Maturity in this forum.
quiznos all the way, then schlotsky's (sp?), i've never had chipotles but i'm sure it's kick-a$$ if it has chipotle sauce. i've always considered subways dead last. to me, subways and their sandwiches is like caesars is to pizza.....not tastey!!!! perhaps, i've always picked the wrong thing on the menu at subways but i've never had a good sandwich at subways.
"The hard working Asians when not eating traditional Asian food go to Schlotzkys and the rest (me) go to Chipotles. Yeahh baby!!!!"...........if you're from cali, asians go to lee sandwiches!!!!! the young asian kids go to quiznos: )
on the subject of being spoiled and cars, i think it's cool for parents to buy their kids cars. with my parents (and many asian parents), they believe it's better for them to support their kids in every way possible so they can concentrate on school and get into med school. if you they can't get into med school, then dental school!!! : ) most asian parents don't like their kids working because it detracts from their schooling. my only complaint would be (and i will get flamed for this) that those parents shouldn't get their kids a super-fast car. yes, not all the youngins will go crazy with all the hp, but i guarantee you that at least 90% of them will and will be a danger on the roads. it has been documented that kids that age have a lesser degree of development in parts of their brains dealing with cognitive ability and reasoning and seeing the consequences to their actions. we have all been at that age and we all know the sense of invincibility and "that it won't happen to me" feeling which all kids at that age feel. all i can say is my kid (when i have kids that is) is getting a honda accord, civic or toyota corolla!!!! take it or leave it: )

Exactly what my wife and I are doing. 25 and dont have any intention of having kids. Crappy schools, large cost, might grow up to psychos etc etc... might sound selfish but we would rather spend $ on ourselves..

have you guys ever heard of a doctor?? because it takes about 8 years of schooling plus at least 3 years of residency to be able to start practicing. and yes residency pays about 40k but that cant buy you much if you get married and have kids. my brother is now going through this process. he studies a lot and rarely has time to play let alone work in a job that will probably pay minimum wage. take into account that med school is expensive.

Actually I have heard of a doctor. Yes, it is a lot of school. That's interesting that you bring this up. Med school was $50K a year for me. Yup, that's a new M3 every freakin year.
I have seen many Asian parents not want their kids to work, and instead concentrate on school. What's ironic, is that I think admissions committees are more impressed with Asians that have done different things, including work, rather than the stereotyped 3.9 GPA, AP class taking, hospital volunteer, piano/violin player.
But my parents were that way, they bought me a 1991 Acura Legend back in 1992 when I was in 11th grade. To this day I still Zaino that car like no tomorrow. The G35 is the first car that I bought, and my wife and I just paid it off this month. So even kids who had nice cars in high school can still turn out ok.

I like both Quiznos and Subway...
Depends on what I'm in the mood for, if I'm in a rush and just want some bread, I go to subway.B ut if I got time and I'm feeling a little "classy" I go to Quiznos. Both are goodn just depends on my mood.
Oh and Quiznos stuff looks way more tasty...lol

yeah, it's a great feeling knowing that you have finally fully purchased the car. My wife and I are both in residency, so we make jack squat, but we saved like crazy. She still wants to go visit Europe, but such things are on hold. Incidentally, I'm trying to save up for some stoptech 2 piece rotors, crawford cats, headers, TS ECU.

Man, I got jipped. My parents made me to work my a$$ off. I worked every weekend and every vacation from when I was 11 to HS graduation except my sophomore summer when they sent me back to Korea to learn more about where I came from. They gave me $5 a week, which worked out to about .06 an hour (you do the math on that one) and they made me save it. Oh yeah, it was 4.0 or my a$$. My dad was a Master Seargeant for 8 year of his 17 years in the army. The choice was mine.
Back on topic: for those deciding on med or dental school, go to dental school. My bro graduated the same year I did ('01) and started out at $100K. He recently bought his own practice and is taking home about $120K. I almost forgot, he only works 4 days a week.

Quiznos tastes better but they only give you a sliver of meat here and there and call it good. I'm hungry an hour after I eat a footlong at Subway though.

actually, my uncle has a family practice and makes about half a mil a year. my aunt is a dentist with her own practice and makes about 400k a year. both are great professions. med school is harder and takes a lot from you due to the grueling hours during residency. dentistry is just 8 years and you're done. but the job is a lot harder physically. every dentist i know ( i have several in my family) sees a physical therapist every week or so due the the muscle, joint, and back aches.
but as a whole, i recommend anything in the health profession. the job is more stable and you get paid nicely. it requires more years of education but it's worth it. i am also in the health profession and have no regrets.
