Maturity in this forum.

This isn't in direct response to any thread in particular, but there are several active topics that just seem to be detracting from the quality of this forum... and they seem to just be repeats of ones that come up over and over again because of the same reasons.

There are obviously two different age groups on this forum. Those old enough to pay for their cars, and those who aren't. Everyone needs to learn three simple words... "let it go." Yes, I understand how frustrating it is that some of you may have busted your butt for years to get to the point to be able to afford a G35, and that some young punk was given the same car and didn't have to do a thing for it. Let it go. Some parents choose to spoil their kids more than others. But not all people who get help from their parents deserve to be talked down to as though they are less worthy of a car because they didn't work as hard as you. Just be happy knowing that you probably appreciate it more than they do. There is no point, and rarely is there closure, when arguing with kids over whom you have no authority.

Conversely, I understand that some of you either didn't pay for your cars or got help paying for them... it's the way some parents work... I can deal with it. But you need to learn not to fuel the fire and act as though either everyone else in the world is just crap and is jealous if they aren't as fortunate as you, or as though getting a couple of A's in school is reason for a $37,000 reward. It's not. We know it, you do to... If it were the case, private schools would be paying you to attend instead of vice versa. In the real world, nobody but your parents are going to give you free things because you got an A in Social Studies while working a job at the local Barnes and Noble through high school. You got a gift. Leave it at that. When someone comes down on you for not paying for your car, just be thankful you have it and let it go.

I'm just tired of seeing threads with legitimate questions revert to such kinds of mockery because of immaturity of both the younger AND older people on this board. There are some folks here who just need to grow up.

Next, the posts about G35 vs. (insert car here) seem to have gotten out of hand. We really need a visible sticky faq that has all the performance numbers for all models of the G35 and a link to roadandtrack.com so that people can just look for themselves instead of starting all these inane debates where people maniacally defend or trash the other car. The arguments are often completely irrelevent (think G vs. SRT-4 and 645ci threads) and again just end up with the least mature people making a bunch of posts attacking each others' views. I know I could just skip these threads... I, of course, choose what I read and what I don't. But I think they detract from this board nonetheless.

Lastly, those of you with a "use the search feature" complex need to grow up. That should not be a blanket reply to any newcomer looking for information that may have been covered in the last year.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

and thats because most of the ppl here are suppose to be grown adults. Theres a lot of envious ppl on here. Why does it really matter how anyone got their g35? As long as you're not coming off all cocky or like a spoiled brat, then its all good.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

i fall into the "wealthy spoiled" category and yes i have a g35 @ 19 yrs old but that statement is just totally wierd to me.. "abusing parents money".. rofl. The fact is most kids like me are VERY humble about what they have.. yes there are some bad eggs but that is in anything. No we dont appriciate things as much as someone that doesnt have as much would.. but you know thats just how life is.. if everyone had the same things in life it would be pretty boring right? I'm gonna struggle a little bit later on to grasp the real cnocept of what a dollar's worth,, but hey ill catch on and it'll teach me something in the process.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

dude, no ones even talking about you. You saying, that most rich kids are humble is obsurd. If most rich kids were humble then why would we even be talking about this subject? No one ever said every single rich kid is a brat, but most of them are. There are a few that are actually are humble. And for you to come in here saying that already proves to me that you are in denial and probably are a spoiled brat.

"Most kids like me"

Your statements alone bother me...

WELL SAID

I was one of the kid that didn't pay anything to get my bimmer few years back. And now I starting to make some money (by selling some RX-8 to earn my G35C ) and purchase my own vehicle. Everytime I see my bimmer and my G parked beside each other, two totally different feeling come up to my mind. I appreciate how fortunate I am, and I also appreciate on how much effort I put to earn my G. I don't think my parents spoiled me by giving me a nice car to drive, cuz I think the most important part here is you have to appreciate what you got. And there are always some ppl more fortunate than you do.

But whichever ways you get your car, you are reading this forum just because you love your sweet ride and want to get some help here. Why don't we just be more supportive to help our G drivers instead of being a hater?

Just my $0.02

this is a free and public forum, so naturaly you will have a bunch of different age groups and points of view here....therefore if you come across something you disagree with post up or simply ignore it....works for me

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Why you even bother. Spoiled brats think they know what's going on, but they don't and they aren't going to listen to you. Why? Cause they are spoiled brats. LOL. The maturity and intelligent level in the forum are comparatively lower against roadfly m3's but you have less arrogant a&&holess. However, this forum isn't nearly as bad as e46fanatics.

They are going to think you are a hater now. Come on, don't be hatin'. Cuz it ain't cool. haha, gotta love mtv culture.

Besides they don't care if it creates a bad name for g35c because it's better when less people buy one. Its exclusive,

I always crackle reading threads like so what if its a [insert fast car here] I will put a quad turbo on the G and we can take them. If not we will take them on the twisties. (Okay, I take it back the second statement. It is bmw mentality.)

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Let me just say that yes, I do get a little frustrated when I see someone driving a car as beautiful as a G when they have not earned it. Most people that have items as expensive as a car handed to them on a platter become very snobby towards other owners, why do you ask, because since they didn't have to spend a dime on their cars they can afford to hook it up crazy with 20" rims, systems, exhausts, etc. If I didn't have to buy my own car, I would thow a twin-turbo kit on the car and whatever else I could, but I have bills to pay, and just can't afford it. Call me immature or what you will, but I don't praise any parent that hands their child expenisve car gifts or $1000 watches, I understand pitching in for a house when they have a family, paying for college, and paying for their wedding, but I car is a privilege, not a right, and I think that parents should buy their children automobiles that are safe and get the child from A to B. Not spend $40,000 on a 280 HP sports car, just so their kids can look cool while driving their friends around to parties. And for all those kids that don't like the opinions of the hard working G drivers on this board, go get some money from your parents and start up you own G35 Board.
