Intelligent key battery running low after 2 months?

I bought a used 06 g35 about 2 months ago. the dealer informed me the battery in the fob was dead, and to come back and they will get me a battery.

So i did that, he replaced both batteries in both fob's and off I went.

Now, less than 2 months later, I am getting the blinking green key light that stays on for 30 seconds, indicating my battery is running low.

I will assume this is not the average life span of these batteries. Any ideas on what could be causing the battery to be drained so quickly (and yes, I read the manual, I don't place my key near a computer or carry it in the same pocket as my cell phone)?

Do you leave it in the car? The connection is always active when the fob is within range. Usually sucks up extra battery juice.

Never. I leave it in the inside pocket in my coat.

it is also bad to keep the FOB next to other electronics with magnets etc. I believe that can help drain it quicker...

Remove the key from the intellikey fob. At the top you'll see a small slot about an 1/8 of inch wide. I stick a bent paperclip in there and just twist it until half of the fob pops off. Replace the old battery with 1 CR2025 battery. I bought my energizer battery from Target
