Lightbulb I bought my car at 18kmiles, do I need 30k mile maintenance?

I bought it at 18k miles, certified pre-owned from a dealership, that already had a lot of things 'fixed' or 'renewed' when I bought it. Thus making those 18k miles seem probably more like 5k miles. Do I really need a 30k mile service? I'm thinking no, maybe at 40k miles I'll have it done.

Just do the service if you're at the mileage. If you have any questions about service intervals and replaced parts check with the dealership.

I don't see why I'd need the 30k mile maintenance, if the car was already 'maintained' when they were trying to sell it on the lot as certified pre owned.

The 30k maintenance is not the first scheduled maintenance for our cars. Best bet is to pull the maintenance records from Infiniti (get them from the dealership) and see what has been done. You can make an educated decision based on what has already been done.

I'd do it, just to have that piece of mind that you did it. Up to you.

Yeah but I could just have them do the 30k maintenance at like 40k.

Shellin out a bunch of a loot, that I don't need to, isn't much peace of mind.

I'll ask them for the records, cuz they're a shady bunch.

They tried pushin winter tires on me for 1700, I was like no thanks I'll find better and cheaper deal. They said well most will be right around that price, so I said, yeah I doubt it.

I got my own winter tires, quality ones, and including all labor to put on...1080, saved myself 620 dollars or more. They can eat my shhhhhhh.

Why are you questioning the service if your car is nowhere near the 30000 miles?
When you hit it, then do the service. Remember that you will want to sell the car at some point and the buyer would like to see that the service was done

Read his sig... he's at 30k now.

FWIW if you're going to take your car to the dealership for the 30k, go to Nissan. They are cheaper.

Yea just ask them for the paperwork then. I did my 30k myself. I didn't take it to the dealer. So if anything, do it yourself.

or try Nissan and see how much they quote you.

I don't get your logic of saying that since you bought it at 18k miles from a dealer than its really like 5k miles. Using your bang up line of thinking, if you do your 30k maintenance your car will probably seem like 10k miles. Who wouldn't want a car that seemed to probably have only 10k miles on it?

Of course, what were you thinking?

Your logic is wrong, do you honestly believe the dealership you yourself admits is shady is going to do anything to your car prior to sale they don't have to? The 30K mile service is important because all fluids should be drained/replaced along with cabin and intake filter. As one member advised you can take your G to Nissan, they use the same products and the cost will be considerably less. Plus they will have a record of the service which will keep your warranty up to date, just like Infiniti.

from about 2 years ago.. Nissan is about 300, but 70 extra for the incabin microfilter. Infiniti is all-inclusive w/ rental for 540+...

IMO.. even if you buy your car at 40K, and there's no record of a 30K maintanese, you should do it just cuz you never know...

Yeah thats true, loaner car.

One time I took my car in to do an oil change at my Infiniti, they took TWO ****in hours. Along with me having to talk to the douche customer service rep who thinks he knows more about cars than I do (he's the one who told me about 1700 winter tire crap).

Yes they vacuumed and washed it at the end, but christ almighty, it shouldn't take that damn long. I can only stare so long at the mundane news they have on in their waiting room.

I bought my car several years ago with 5K on the clicker. According to Grubbs Infiniti, they had cahnged the oil, yeah right. I changed the oil at about 8K and no, the seals on the screws that hold the bottom panel had never been broken. Granted, I paid top dollar for my car. Who is to say that they serviced your car for anything at all. I have 29K on my car and have bought the brakes, in-cabin filter and belts from Riverside Infiniti. I'm buying Amsoil synthetics for the tranny and differential tomorrow. As soon as it hits 30K, all that is getting replaced. I too don't follow or understand your logic. It's an expensive car, even if you didn't pay top price, it's cheaper to maintain it.
