WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars
I agree that some old folks (70+) have issues with competency on the road. Unfortunately, I also feel like the same holds true for many of the young drivers out there. lol
Even if they never explore the limits of the vehicle, I like seeing an old person exhibiting some style by driving something more sporty than a Buick. It doesn't seem to disturb me as much as seeing a 17yr. old exploring the limits of their '89 Dodge Spirit on public streets.

If you're not old enough to drink, you're certainly not old enough to drive.

jdking Your Mom should be playing in a weekly bingo game instead of driving an m3. But if you really want id be happy to race her, I just hope she doesnt fall asleep at the wheel or break her hip trying to shift gears. As far as giving up a cool car, thats not wut i meant. I meant old geezers that are at the brink of death should not be driving a car with an M or AMG on it.
Let me know when she wants to race.

You'd be surprised of what old (75+) people are capable of doing on the road. That includes, heart attacks, strokes, or just plainly like someone here said, accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake pedal and run someone over.

From statistic, young and elderly drivers are 2 most prone age group to be involved in an accident, while elderly are the most likely to die from one. However, younger drivers still #1 compare to the rest. The chance of a young driver being reckless and foolish is by far much higher than an elderly having an heart attack on the road.
If I apply the same reasoning I can say younger drivers are more likely become intoxicated and worn out from work than elder people therefore younger driver should not drive fast car as well. Bring it even further high stress & long hour jobs like doctors and lawyers (Those who can actually afford these cars) should not be driving a fast car either. If you google online the top 5 professions most likely to speed and involved in an accident are students (#1), lawyers, architects, doctors and real estate agent. They should be banned from driving anything over 120 hp. So who should drive fast cars? No one. Right? Or we should let house wives drive them because they are on the bottom of the list.
The person who started this thread is an IDOIT. I don't think IDOITS should be driving a G35c either. This topic is a prime example to the other thread regarding maturity level on this forum
Take a look at this statistic. Its fatality by age, might not be a direct cause and effect but I am sure its positively correlated to accident and drivers age.

I agree with you that elderly drivers post a higher risk but not nearly as bad as young drivers.

who gives a **** if old ppl drive nicer cars. Mind ur own business. CL55/SL55/S55s all cost alot more than ur G. They target ppl who wants the luxury of a benz with better performance. I envy those old ppl who drives AMGs rather than old domestic car. At least they have good taste.

hyescarface00, wtf is up with that name anyway? Are you al pacino?
I feel sorry for your parents and elders in your family, do they have any idea of how disrespectful you are?
My Mom would break your hip from the terrible ***-whooping she'd give you after you tried to use some lame excuse for why you got beat by her on the track, LOL.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars
Sheesh, I'm only 22, graduated college, was lucky to find a very well paying job right away and already ordered my 05 6mt G35. I'm not having any parental support or financing or anything for this car as it is all on my own. So as far as too young of people driving this car I don't necessarily agree. I don't think there should be 17 year olds driving this car that their parent probably paid for, I already know how much I will take care of this beauty because it will be paid for entirely by me, you never realize the difference until you pay for the car yourself.
I went to a very rich are high school where parents would routinely by their kids GT mustangs, Camaros, even 1 guy's dad bought him a brand new Vette. Twice I saw these high school kids wreck their nice car and get another brand new one the next week. Unfortunatly I drove around my very old 100,000+ mile Mercury Sable in High school, I think I deserve to splurge a bit on a nice car now

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars
I live on Speeds turf in CT and have been exposed to the same rediculous sights all over Fairfield County with these 80yr olds driving Murcielagos. I just turned 23 and am lucky enough to have landed a great job out of school and with my first year bonus I picked up the G about 3 weeks ago. The funny part about where we live is that a G is nothing fancy around here... but I have gotten nothing but compliments from everyone with the exception of a few Honda Civic owners (mostly high school kids). For some reason, they seek me out and pull up next to me at traffic lights revving their 1.8L engines on a regular basis. Typically I nod and smile because let's face it, I'm in a G and they're in a Civic, they're probably embarassed enough so why rub it in... but twice in the past 3 weeks they've actually had the nerve to challenge me. I was driving down High Ridge Rd. (Speed, you know exactly what I'm talking about) and this kid driving a 1990ish bright orange integra pulled up next to me and started doing the good old pop-out-the-clutch lurching to get me to race him... I wasn't taking the bait, I just smiled... then that little A-hole says to his friend "It's probably Auto anyway." Well now it was time for me to teach little Timmy a lesson on respect. Light turns green and PEACE OUT, I was gone and his pumpkin with wheels was sputtering up the road.
My point is this: I don't pull up next to Enzos or GT2's and rev my engine like an idiot because it's LAME. Just give them a compliment, smile and move along. I worked hard for my G and hopefully I'll be where they are someday, driving an Enzo or something. The same applies for younger guys driving G's, I know alot of people probably think my parents bought me my car but they're dead wrong. Show respect where respect is due and don't hate the player, hate the game (and stay in school, it's worth it...trust me).
