Is it possible to "recirculate" cabin air w/o turning the A/C on?

I tried all the button combo and every time the A/C turns on. Even if the heater is on, and I want to recirculate the air, both the AC and Heater will run.

Makes no sense...

Why don't we have an option to run the heater and recirculate the air w/o having to run the AC? Or with the air quality outside is bad, and we just want some air hitting our face, w/o the AC running.

How about the window defroster, that circulates air and you can even crack your window for fresh air....

I dont' like the way that works either. The recirculate/AC off combo is not part of the logic circuit... which is really dumbfounding considering every other lesser car has that simple option.

I asked this same question a couple of weeks ago, and I figured out if you hit the AC button when the system is operating the light goes off and so does the compressor.

Voila, re-circulate. You can still raise or lower the fan speed as well. Hope this answers your question.

sometimes the air outside stank... and we just want a little breeze to hit us..

I'll try the method posted later today.. Doubt they will work.

Every time I hit "recirculate" the a/c comes on. Sounds like everyone else is saying the same thing.

Do the Altima's also have this problem?

Where you live you need all the help you can get with heaters and defrosters. When you turn on the defroster jack the fan up to
max and everything should cear out quickly....that even works in CA.

^i actually don't have much trouble w/ fogging, and rarely have frost on my windshield, when its -40 outisde you don't get frost, frost only occurs when it is near freezing temperature. I only use the defroster because over time the window will fog, i don't need the defroster working at full, other then because i'm f***en cold.

So I can be done? Can u take a pic of that? Showing the recirculate button is on and the AC is off.

I don't think this is possible on our car.

The reason is doesn't work is because recirulating air w/o AC will fog up your windows.

The windows will fog up even if you dont recirculate the windows and have all windows closed.

Not with A/C on, it removes the moisture from the air.

Sometimes I don't want the AC on. I just want air to move. And the windows will only fog up when it's extremely COLD. Why would I want the AC on when it's COLD?

Makes no sense.

Just on several occasions, there air quality would suck and I just want air blowing. So I close the window and turn on the air but its taking in all the bad air from the outside so the cabin end up smelling like the outside.

Point is, there should be an option to do this.. No excuses about windows fogging, etc etc.. It should be our choice. Especially for something as simple as recirculating cabin air.

It's not like we're asking Infinti to make a dipstick that isn't as retarded as the current one we have. That would be too complicated for them.
