anywhere else besides the pillar you will have to custom fabricate a mount. there are more than a few threads on here showing custom mounts, so please dont ask anymore until you search.

Gauges....?

Gauges will be my next project, I like the Navi location for 2 gauges. (oil pressure and amp) Thinking about the stereo shop I use having them make a two gauge pod that fits in that navi slot painted silver to match the interior. Gauges are necessary to know what's going on under the hood, our G35s are lacking in that area!

You could always mount 'em in the glovebox. Or inside that storage pocket on the dash, either of those two places it would be out of the way.

what is the point of installing gauges and hiding them?

You put them in the pillar so they can be easily seen without taking your eyes off the road or blocking your view.

Gauges....location?

Gauges should be installed at eye level where you can scan them while driving....glove box is a bad idea! Never understood why the Z's have gauges and our G's are lacking that information.... I like the second pic, logical location!

Aparently because not all people want to have their gauges out Full Time. If you don't have a Navigation the pocket on the dash is the best spot.
