2006 6MT nearing 24K. Manufactured 12/05... Burns about a quart every 3k miles on German Castrol so not enough to warrant new engine, but still annoying =/

was this problem ever fixed? just curious as to if having a later build date makes a difference?
Any idea what month production stopped for any given year?
i have a june 30th 2006 06 model and feel like it may have been one of the last off the line for the 06 model year

06 6mt 53K, built 09/2005, Mobil1 5W30 since first change
Year model changes around August or September. I special ordered a 2005 in July of 05, but ended up having to wait for the factory to change over to 2006 models, and then wait for the slow boat to bring it over.
Checked my coils/spark plug wells last night and they were all dry.

But wasn't the oil on plugs problem just with 2004 and older?

No. The valve cover are all the same designs from 2003 - 2007. Plastic valve cover with built-in O-rings. Originally Posted by Texasscout

They warp overtime (usually @ 70k or so). Valve cover alone with "built-in" o-rings will run you about 200 each.

Well, you have the new revised long block. So you don't count. But congrats on the new motor. Those of us who aren't burning oil on the original motor are praying that it wont burn oil after our warranty period is up.Originally Posted by ZE120
