Very nice tips.

Also thanks for the KP Technologies link too. For those interested there's a bunch of videos on youtube showing off the push button start w/ and w/o having to insert your standard key in the ignition! Here's a few links for the lazy ppl.

w/ standard key:

w/o key:

i kinda like the electronic beep mod as well:

That isn't true at all. You have to be sitting in the seat with your foot on the clutch before the car will start. If it were a remote start there could be some issues, but a pushbutton start on a manual tranny, as long as you don't bypass the clutch switch, is as safe as using the key.

I've never had any issues with remote start... well, as long as the car isn't in gear...

I love my memory seats... it even moves the side mirrors... I just hate it when my ex bf used to change the settings even though he had his own key.

If the system was installed correctly (either requires a shut down procedure to "arm" the remote start or ties in to the Park/Neutral Position switch) you won't have problems. If you simply rely on the car not being in gear chances are good one day you will have a problem.

are u sure?

so basically what ur saying is that u can only use remote start to start your car when its in neutral (for 6MT's)?

If the remote start is isntalled correctly it will ONLY start in neutral.

If it was installed incorrectly it will start in any gear. If the car is left in first or reverse the car will move (even with the parking brake on). I actually had this happen to my Cavalier 10 years ago. I had a magnetic switch setup that failed and I remote started it in reverse (with parking brake on). Luckily, there was a full size pickup truck parked right behind my car. When my car hit the truck it caused my car to stall out - had that truck not been there who knows what it would have hit.
