badging

I'm going to powder coat my stock wheels black. I think they'll look good and I'll save some cash for other mods, cause my brother in law owns powder coating shop. My question is can I take off the infiniti logo and lettersoff the trunk to powder coat them also. If so how do i do it.

Thanks Charlie 06 5at coupe fully stock for now

heat up the emblems with a heatgun and work some fishing line back and forth behind each one. Use some goo gone to take off any residual adhesive.

Also, yes, you can remove them. All the rear badges are installed via adhesive glue, unlike many other cars where the emblem is bolted in.

u can also use a blow dryer to heat them up or dental floss in place of fishing line, they use a 3m adhesive from factory and when heated is much easier to remove..make sure to use 3m doublesided adhesive(3m tape) to re-apply

Removing the emblems from our trunk lids is called "DEBADGING" try doing a SEARCH for the correct removal method. It's possible your emblems wouldn't survive the heat required to powder coat, couldn't hurt to try....
