So, I've seen a couple of DIY threads on here before about upgrading the stock key fob to the silver fob that comes with the smart key. All the DIYs that I've read involve removing the circutry in the stock key fob and placing it in the silver casing. However, all these threads seems to deal with the 04 to 06 models.

My question is, since I have an 07 coupe, can I simply buy the smart key fob and ask the dealers to reprogram it for my car, or do I need to follow the DIYs and switch out the circutry?

I've searched for an answer, but can't seem to find one, so I apologize if this has already been covered.
