new rotors + pads = caliper fail

04 g35 coupe 65k miles I'm so mad I just got new rotors and pads and my right rear caliper fail on me. I out of warranty so im taking it to my mechanic to see what he says.......

he's charging me $200 for a new caliper, but my new rotor is half dead.
