Hello.
Here is my 03 coupe just bought a week ago. It has 32K on it. Runs great and I am loving it. It's been parked at for 2 years. I am planning to replace the tires tomorrow. Did some calculation on the gas and it comes out like 21 MPG(from local and freeway) so it's ok.
So far I did oil changes going to take the car in for break inspection today and tires tomorrow. Do I need to change trany fluid yet at 32K? I looked at the manual it does not show. What else I need to do at this point? I don't know much about car except driving it, sorry. Thanks for any help.

Nice find, low mileage G and very clean! Must have been kept in a garage, had it been left outside it wouldn't look half that nice. With 32K on the clock and have been negelcted for two years I'd fluish all fluids including the brakes. I'd use all synthetic Red Line replacement fluids which will make everything work smoother. (trans/diff/engine) This includes flushing the radiator too, doing this now will save you major $ later on!

Thanks Gary. I changed oil with Shell synthetic oil. I'll take to dealer for tranmission fluid.

 

I would change every fluid in the car just to be safe.

 

Yes, once we let one of our cars sit for 1.5yrs and it messed it up pretty bad. It was not indoor tho.

like you hybridge i just got a g35 coupe for the first time, except mines black with just under 34k miles, i bought it with just around 32k tho. Anyways, congrats on the ride, and be prepared to shell out serious cashflow if you want that baby to move and function properly. After much debating about what I should do to the car first, i realized that I would be better off just boosting the car before any CAI,header, high flow cats, or exhaust sytems or whatever, cause you'd be spending pretty much the same amount on all that as a turbo kit. But... if speed isn't your thing, get some 20's, slam the ride, and just do whatever you want.

 

Hey, I'm looking into getting a 2004 G35. I'd like to know from the G owners, if it's really a good move. I've been wanting this car for awhile now and I just found one with 55,000 miles on it. I'd like to know if it's a good buy considering the mileage and also what I should look out for when I go to view the car. Thanks.

p.s. Is this car expensive to maintain like Beemers because I was also looking at the 3 series coupe.

 

If it has been sitting for 2 years, I would change every single fluid on the car.

 

i think that depends if you are a handy man or not. that many miles might require some flushing of some fluids, maybe new tires and brakes. and if you do get maintenance done, go to a nissan dealership instead of infiniti. i'm sure most on here would agree on that.

 

An 04 G35 JayD? how much are you paying for it? when you view the car, check everything! mileage not bad if you are getting it for a good price like between 14-16K. So far the car has been low maintenance, performance is good, plenty of upgrades available. can't tell you if it's a good buy if I don't know how much you are getting it for.

And no, this car is not as expensive a beemer to maintain. I know cause I used to have one. And the g35 coupe is by far a better car all around in performance, reliablity, maintenance, and safety.

p.s. when looking at the g, check the suspension, motor, tranny, and clutch.

 

Do you use regular or premium gas?

 

glorioushybrid, I found two. One has 41,000 for $16,900 and the other has 50,000 for $15,900. I've been getting some crap from people about buying a car this old. What do you think? I'm new to this car buying thing. Thanks
