I recently bought a 2004.5 G35 Coupe, but I'm trying to emphasize more on the "luxury" aspect of it rather than performance.
When I drive I notice the ride is wayyyy too firm. Especially in my city the roads are VERY bumpy, and the G knocks left to right all over the place. It isn't very luxurious, lol. Feels more like I'm off-roading.
What can I do/replace to give my G a softer ride?

I believe the Tokico D-spec struts have the adjustable dampening, so you can replace your old ones with those and put them on the softest setting

the easiest soft ride mod to do is get the 17" 5 spoke rims from 03-04 g35 sedan,
it will be a very soft ride - 18 or 19 " is very rough,

Yeah I forgot to mention I have stock 18" now... and I'm looking at 22" for the summer!! Do you think that will make it much much worse?Originally Posted by infinitisport

22's will definitely make it much worse! I went from stock 17's to 18's to 19's and it has progressively gotten worse. It makes me regret going to 19's but they look so much better than the 17's. I guess I'll just have to live with it, or get a new car.

the smaller the tire footprint + the smaller the rim size = smoother ride
17" 215 from 03 sedan is smoother than the 17" 225 coupe
i have the 17" from sedan, 18" coupe, 19" sf volks, and 19" oem rays - only the 17 is smooth all the other were very rough
22" will help break your compression rod and bushings much faster as well as givin u more off road type rides

22"? Wow. I think 20" look great, with 21" you'd need to have a pretty aggressive look, but I think 22" is just overkill for our cars. And you'd basically have to have rubberbands as tires. If you think the stock ride is bad now, 22" wheels will kill you lol.
Just please don't tell me you're thinking of 22" chrome wheels!

if you thinking of going 22" you might as well get these wheels

You save money on rubber with them.

LOL, well I've seen g35s with 22"s that look really well done... I think it depends on the dimensions and style of the rim to determine if you can really pull it off. Originally Posted by Silencer_0

I'm on OEM 19's and found a nice ride improvement from going to plus tire sizes over stock.

Getting the 17s from the Coupe is your best best. Changing to 17s from a sedan would be even softer but might upset your VDC.
