TSB's are not covered by the dealer. It's just there so the tech has something to reference when customers complain about this issue. Recalls on the other hand are done at no charge. I took my car to Infiniti with the TSB printed out in my hand. Dropped it off with them and they called me back with a $1300 estimate for a fuel pump assembly/sending unit and the valve listed in the tsb. Only reason i took it there was because I have an extended warranty which turned out they didn't cover it anyway. So i bought the valve and threw it in, good as new.

Try just pumping the gas really slow. This happened to my girlfriends bmw where the sensor would react alot faster then it should, so i just pumped the gas really slow and it wasnt splashing everywhere in the tank.

For me it depends on gas station/nozzle. At some gas stations i can do 100%, others about 85%.

Infiniti fixed mine when I took it for the airbag recall. I don't even think they tested it. I just told them about it, and they just replaced the shutter valve.
