Bought a set of TRW Thruxtons for my G coupe. The are staggered 8.5X20 front and 10X20 rear. I bought them used from a guy that had them on a G35S sedan. I went to put on my fronts and they will not pass my Brembos. Went to a wheel shop and they tried a 1/4 spacer and that would take car of it. Now the problem is the wheel studs are too short to mount the wheels. Can I get longer wheel studs installed? Would it be safe? Any other suggestions? The guy I bought from and the Infiniti dealer both said these wheels would fit and now I'm pissed. What can I do? Am I out $1000 for wheels and tires? Thanks

You can get extended studs and if installed properly they will be safe - you will likely need to run an open ended lug nut though to get them tight against the wheel.

Other suggestions would be to make sure before buying - perhaps test fit next time if unsure.

 

Buy some spacers with the studs already in them, then short stubby nuts go on your stock studs but theyre countersunk into the spacer so they are flush for the wheel to sit on

 

What size spacer? I would have test fitted these if they didn't come off of another g35. Everyone said they would be a direct fit. Guess they were wrong.
