I'm not against modified cars... but if I'm going to get into modifying, I want to do everything myself. That way I know EXACTLY what has been done, how the car drove prior to modification, etc etc. Even custom or non-factory wheels are a huge turn-off for me when I'm looking at used coupes.

For example, think about two 2007 Coupes, each with 22,000 miles. One has non-factory wheels, and the other has stock wheels. Over 22,000 miles, which car is going to have suspension components that are in better shape?? Keep in mind: even wheels alter how the vehicle was designed to perform.

On the other hand, many people will argue that modified cars can often times be taken care of more properly than non-modified cars because of enthusiast ownership....
No you misunderstand me. I have the original wheels that came with the g35 but I got these custom ones to see if it looks good on the car. You are right wheels can alter how the car performs.

I am curious how many people on these forums that drive a g35 have gotten theirs with an accident prior to buying it.

I am sure there is a good amount of people that still bought it. This car is a $40k car so getting it at $22k with only 21,200 miles is a good deal in my opinion.

Are you in cali? If so, my car is the one you want. I only drive it on weekends.
Still looks brand new inside and out. It's also bone stock.

Yea I hear you. Thanks for all your feedback I appreciate it. I think the seller is getting me a warranty 4 years 60k miles. I have to look at the quotations on it. So far so good. Everything seems to be getting better when I look at this car.

Keep shopping, accident and no warranty....I wouldn't buy it! Your concept of modded cars is incorrect if done correctly and with quality & taste! Once you find a G35 attend some meets and shows you'll see what I mean....

It took me over 6 months to find the G I wanted accident/salvage free. I'd say keep looking but you seem to have your mind made up already.

You sound a bit timid and unsure. To me, that's a sure sign to stay away from it. When you find the right car, you'll know it. No warranty is a big sign that something's wrong. Plus, I'm sure you can a find a car out there that hasn't been in an accident.

Having the car checked at a dealership means nothing unless it's someone you know and trust. I once bought an Acura that was "checked" at an Acura dealer, that turned out to have major front end suspension and rail damage. The dealer didn't care because he knew I couldn't come back on him - I didn't buy the car from him and he was only checking it.

I also think you don't want to sink a bunch of money into a car you may not be able to afford to fix if it breaks, since there's no warranty.

Trust yourself. Good luck.
