help: "set" light flashing on the cruise control

so i got off the freeway and was using cruise control the entire way. When i hit local, the "set" indicator on the cluster started flashing rapidly. Ive never seen this before. So i turn the cruisecontorl switch off and on. It still flashes. I have turned the car off and on and it's still there. Im afraid it might be a warning light so I havn't tried to set the mph at all. anyone know what's going on?

TIA

That answer doesnt work for me. I will find out whats going on.

My guess is 1 of 2 things.

1. Moisture on ECU. My passenger side has been leaking a bit and I just recently siliconed the entire pass side to prevent the ECU from getting any more wet.

2. Something with the TPS or Throttle body. My Slip light has been going off when I'm in traffic and don't come to a complete stop and then start back up. Slip activates around 1000 RPM and then goes away.

Ok so I believe I fixed the issue.

I took off all the plastic covering the battery and pass. cabin filter. First I wiped it all down and used a blow dryer to make sure it was all dry. Then I took regular 100% silicone and calked the main wires that lead into the interior, the cabin filter area, and any crack where the water could get into the interior. Bad design if you ask me. Anyways, after a couple of days it dried out and now works fine. Cruise sets, no blinking and now issues.....

oh god... I remember I jabbed a whole in the rubber leading from the battery through the firewall during my sub install... I might of not put enough silicone..

But i think you might of found the problem

Same thing I did. But make sure you silicone the entire outside edge of the rubber surround too. I siliconed my amp wire and that wasn't enough....

Also clean it up really well first and dry it for a while with a blow dryer. Has to be dry for the silicone to adhere...
