Just got a great offer to test some coils!!! is it worth it to do so??

i got an offer from someone who is receiving coils to sell to g35 drivers. apparently, they are a brand new company called "Gear Performance". the coils are still in the process of testing and i was offered to test it out. $600 for the coils installed. all i got to do is drive around and go do a few track runs in track and give feedback on the coils. im currently on springs and was planing to go coils but really wanted a reputable brand. what would are the cons of having new brand name coilovers?

Doesn't sound like a great deal, why not just spend a little more and actually buy coils from a reputable company and just... Enjoy them?

mmm ima try to find out what materials they use before reject the offer. im thinking that the coils are bad but there still is a chance that they are good. if the coils were properly created with right materials and engineering, it should be good right?

Get some pics and specs. If they can't even tell you the spring rates, then they didn't make a suspension - it's probably a prefabbed unit made in China or Taiwan, probably similar to BCs only sh*ttier, that they had their name slapped on. But get some more info on it than just the spring rates, get all the specs. Forget about materials... it's most likely a strong aluminum, but that doesn't matter as much.

Either way, I'm willing to bet it's a Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturer. But just because it's cheap doesn't necessarily make it bad, depending on the specs and type of struts they're using. But when I heard this, the first thing to come to my head was Golden Apple (ADR, Stern, RS Limited) and their sh*tty NEX suspensions.

A lot of people have been down this road, and most if not all probably regret it. IMO, if they really believe in their products, they'd be willing to sponsor someone and give a set or two away for testers and reviews for more business in the future.

Wait....... youre gonna pay $600 to some company to do their partial R&D and onroad testing.... shouldnt they be paying you or giving them to you free of charge?

Theres a sucker born every minute.....

The way I see it, its like the 1st year of a new generation of a vehicle, STAY AWAY until they have the bugs worked out

You shouldnt have to pay anything, they want you to do a test of the coils.

Like already posted they are prob made in china or Taiwan like BC.

costs like 300 to make and they sell em for 1000

It would be fair if they paid for the coils & install & camber kits for your evaluation/endorsement of their product. But if they're not willing to do that, then they don't sound like a reputable company, and I wouldn't PAY to put ?able parts on my car.
