Bluebat overlay..unhappy

Has anyone had any negative experience with his overlays? I got some rear overlays from him and when I went to install, it was as if there was no glue on the top half. Yes, I used soap and water and cleaned the lights.. and so on.. I have done it before and I have installed window tint also. It started off okay towards the inside, but once I moved to the top middle of the taillight, it wouldn't stick. I tossed it in the garbage since it was useless and emailed him. He question whether I did it right and I told him yes and the processes I used.. He didn't respond to that email so I sent another one asking if I could get another left taillight overlay. He then told me to send the other one back for an exchange. I asked to confirm the address and it has now been two days and no response. Just kind of annoyed that such a small, mild mod that cost $40 isn't holding up to its rep.

No, no heat gun. I used a hair dryer. Heat guns can melt them if your not careful.

Sounds like you did it wrong.

Bat is a busy guy, can't expect him to jump on stuff right away he provides overlays to multiple forums and different types of cars. And 99% of the time someone says the overlay was crap, it's because they installed it wrong.

Give him some time.

i'm bat's authorized installer in NY.. i never had a problem like what u had.. there are few times where small areas wouldn't stick but heatgun solved that problem.. it may becuz u have installed it wrong, but andy (bat) is a very understanding guy.. he's a busy guy and takes awhile to respond.. he'll definitely help you out though.. just be patient for his response

Andy has a full time job. He does the overlay business on the side, practically by himself. So yes, it may take a few days for him to respond, but he will help you resolve your issue.

Andy is awesome, and like everyone else said his product is a good one. He will take care of you even if the installation went wrong or not. He is a good guy, but busy. I have been on my350z.com for years and nothing but good reviews, service from him.

Okay, thanks for all your thoughts. Maybe I did do it wrong, even though I have done it, and window tint before. Mix a mild soap and water in spray bottle, spray the sticky side of film, spray the taillight, place film on taillight, heat in corners and curves if needed, squeegee all bubbles and liquid out with a paper towel wrapped squeegee to prevent scratching. Is this correct or did I do something wrong? He still hasn't emailed me back but hopefully I will hear from him soon.

He will get back to you, no worries on that!! Doesn't sound like you missed a step, but sometimes products have issues (nothing can be 100% perfect). We were simply stating that MOST of the issues with these (although rare) are the installation methods done wrong. With any product, will come some defected ones, but again.. Andy will do the right thing and this isn't a common issue with the product. He has been around since 2003-04. He has a great rep.

I know it is hard to be patient, especially since you were ready to install them. He will email you back. There is a chance he is out of town..? It happens

drowe303 I wouldn't worry that he is simply ignoring you or anything because him & I were in the process of working out an order through emails and I have been waiting on an email for a couple days now about some prices. Im sure he will get to us when he has the time..
