Loans for couches and such do help. Dept. store cards (and Best Buy too) count. Did you cancel your only major credit car? You might want to think about getting it back (or getting one from a different back -- go for a $0 annual fee card if you can).

You may want to request a copy of your credit report and see how those items are listed there. The three credit agencies, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion all have websites where you can buy a copy for about $8, depending on which state you live in, or if you've been denied credit recently, for free -- though you may have to write to some of them instead of using the online form for the free copy.

Also, eLoan may not have worked for you, but are you a member of a Credit Union? Or is there one in your area that you can join? They usually have decent car loan rates. Of course, you could also just go see what kind of financing you can get through your dealer. With a short credit history, you may have to eat a slightly higher interest rate on this car loan, but timely payments should propel you into good credit status.
