How long has the original non brembo brakes lasted so far?
Has anyone replaced their brakes? If so, by how many miles?

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
So far what the dealer has told me on the automatics with non-Brembo, the cars are only getting about 10-15k out of their pads. They have a special program where they will replace the pads, etc. for free; I'm thinking this is for 2 yrs. that they will do this.

i can't believe the brakes are only lasting 10k-15k on the non brembos. What's up with that? Has anyone experienced this problem?

I had to replace after 15000, I do have the auto w/o brembos. The dealer replaced for free. I don't know what the prob was but they said there were alot that were coming in for the same problem.

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
Why do you use the word-- "problem". Fast wearing soft dusty pads are the KEYSTONE for the brake assist technology! How you reduce stopping distances by getting to full power [best friction] in the first half second of usual wishy washy brake appilication [low pedal pressure]. What people call grabby brakes are an asset.........if you care about minimizing braking distance.

When owners learn the upkeep cost of good but cheap brakes [non Brembo] they are not sure they want the extra 15 feet.

Happens every time with excellant dusty pads.

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
I replaced the front brake pad and rotor at 13000, the rear pad at 17000. I now have 22000, the brakes start to squeak again [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
Q45Tech is absolutely correct. My Metal Master pads on my Z32 brake equipped 240 ate a set of pads once a year easy. That's 12-15,000 miles a year I was driving. I replaced the rotors twice in 4 years. For not having ABS, that car was pretty quick to stop and quite responsive in braking. You gotta pay to play.

The free replacement is for "non-brembo" brakes only.

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
In the used market [once any brake warranty has expired] the G will be an expensive car to maintain to as new specs with tires, suspension, and brakes.

Most used buyers will just ignore new specs and buy lifetime pads and tires, never change shocks, or rubber in suspension, and wonder what all the performance hype was all about.......those 4 for $99 tire specials and brakes will really turn the G into a worthless piece of _________________!
Oh! those $2 spark plugs and oil filters and 99 cent quarts of oil.

Re: G35 Coupe Brakes?
Im at almost 10k, and I'm definately feeling a difference with my Brembos. I do however like to drive my car hard and fast, and the brakes really pay for it sometimes. But I try to baby the brakes all the other times haha.

I was hoping to go 20k+. Hell my Civic went to like 80k before I changed them
